About Imagery

Aerial and Satellite Imagery data can provide an added visual dimension and context to conventional mapping. Imagery is available at a range of resolutions, including 25cm or 12.5cm (urban only) resolution, providing a high-detailed, seamless appearance. Imagery data can be used for asset management, site planning and development, feature extraction, and agricultural and environmental monitoring.

Imagery can also be used as an alternative to background mapping providing visual context and a ‘real’ view of what is on the ground.

Multispectral satellite imagery is available at many different resolutions, down to 1metre, and can be used for land use classification, feature extraction and environmental applications such as vegetation monitoring.

Further datasets can be derived from imagery data, such as roof material classification and tree proximity.

Benefits

  • Provides ‘real-world’ context to complement your data
  • Can be used in derived datasets, enabling the increasing of value of other datasets
  • Enables change-detection over time
