Paul McGovern and Paul Hann, Dundee City Council
Dundee City Council's approach to extending the ArcGIS Server Javascript API has delivered a GIS solution that is easy to use, easy to implement and easy to maintain. This presentation will look at the reasons behind our choice of the Javascript API, the objectives we had for web GIS, and how we realised these using a combination of dojo, XSL, XML and PHP to produce a reusable code base. Using the scenario of winter gritting, we will show how this API allows us to quickly and easily create internal and external GIS applications that satisfy user demands.
11:55-12:35 Creating a new Web GIS presence with the ArcGIS API for Flex
Richard Betts, Senior GIS Officer, Scottish Natural Heritage
Over the last year, Scottish Natural Heritage has completely re-engineered its web GIS presence with the ArcGIS API for Flex.  This presentation will retrace the journey from the first installation of ArcGIS server to the imminent release of a new corporate website, demonstrating some of the new applications and summarizing the experience from a developer’s perspective.

14:05-14:30 Suping up the engine and adding a bit of style!
Scott Tansley, Technical Solutions Group, ESRI (UK)
ArcGIS Engine has been part of the product landscape for a number of years now however, like any engine, it’s still worth pulling it apart, looking what’s in there, and putting it back together with some new parts for good effect!  Many applications don’t know where they’re going just like a car without a GPS, how about adding some maps?

Matt Toon, Technical Solutions Group, ESRI (UK)
The are many reasons why ArcGIS Server doesn’t scale as well as you might like, this talk will delve down into some of the areas that can be tweaked, prodded and bent to make the server and services perform to their best and look at tools the can be used to investigate and measure the performance of services and servers.
