| 11:15-11:55 | GIS made easy with the ArcGIS Server Javascript API Paul McGovern and Paul Hann, Dundee City Council Dundee City Council's approach to extending the ArcGIS Server Javascript API has delivered a GIS solution that is easy to use, easy to implement and easy to maintain. This presentation will look at the reasons behind our choice of the Javascript API, the objectives we had for web GIS, and how we realised these using a combination of dojo, XSL, XML and PHP to produce a reusable code base. Using the scenario of winter gritting, we will show how this API allows us to quickly and easily create internal and external GIS applications that satisfy user demands. |
