About GIS Day 2008
|
Join us in promoting GeographyGIS Day is a great way to get out into our local communities to engage and enthuse about Geography. ESRI (UK) would like to encourage our staff, business partners and customers to take a few hours in November and go out into their community to promote Geography. We have thought about various activities that can be targeted for different age groups. There are designed for you to be able to pick and choose what would most suit the group you want to approach. The activities can also be used to go out and speak to community groups about Geography, for example The Rotary, or youth groups like The Scouts. We would also like you to come back and tell us what you are doing. Although GIS Day is identified as one day (19th November), the projects often last longer and many are sustainable, initiating geography based projects within various communities. There is a huge amount of information the GISDay.com website which will help you host your GIS day but we would like to offer a UK flavour. Find out more what you can download from ESRI (UK).
