'Government 2020', is the ESRI (UK) Seminar Series for Local Government organisations. The seminars will take place over two weeks at five locations across the UK.
It is ten years since the landmark 'Modernising Government' White paper. Since then there has been substantial investment in IT and GIS across Government in order to transform services and service delivery.
In the current financial climate, Local Government is concerned with delivering 'more for less'. This means that forward looking Local Authorities will be planning for the future whilst being asked to deliver even greater efficiencies in the short term.
The Government 2020 vision explores what the future of local government might look like in 2020. The burning questions for local authorities are, how do we keep pace, understand and embrace what's coming next, minimise investment risk, and ensure that operations and customer facing solutions provide tax payers with genuine value for money?
