New ViewPermit 2009 Edition Selected By Three More Cities for On-Line GIS-Based Electronic Permitting to Upgrade Citizen Customer Service

BELMONT, MA June 5, 2009 —ViewPoint GIS announced that three Massachusetts communities-the City of Haverhill (approx. pop. 60,000), the City of New Bedford (approx. pop. 92,000), and the Town of Hanover (approx. pop. 14,000)-all selected ViewPermit 2009 Edition for electronic permit management.

ViewPermit is specialized GIS-based software, designed using Esri ArcGIS Engine and ArcObjects and Microsoft .NET technology, that enables municipal officials to seamlessly track, control, monitor and schedule all elements of permit issuance in many departments concurrently. It significantly reduces processing time and greatly enhances citizen, business and staff access to information. Customer service is dramatically improved when ViewPermit is deployed.

ViewPermit was selected by these communities over very strong competitive products because of its best-in-class GIS-based architecture, on-line access, user interface, one-stop functionality, powerful feature set, and overall value. It has recently been completely updated and expanded to streamline workflow for planning, conservation, zoning, building, public works and health agencies, and a myriad of local licensing needs.

"We selected ViewPermit so we could revolutionize the city's permitting and licensing functions in citizen-centric fashion," commented Pam Carr, Information Technology Director for the City of Haverhill. "ViewPermit was clearly the most comprehensive and functional of the many solutions we evaluated, and we were extremely impressed with how well they listened and responded to our needs."

"ViewPermit was designed in close collaboration with municipal officials," stated Nasser Hajo, ViewPoint Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, "so all permitting, licensing and code enforcement resources are accessible from one powerful space that completely streamlines workflow. ViewPermit can cut permit issuance time from days or weeks to just a few minutes in many cases."

Both despite and because of significant strains on finances, today's municipal management environment demands electronic solutions that improve customer service, increase productivity and protect and preserve information assets. Communities are being pressed to do more with fewer resources, and at the same time improve response time and public access. Additionally, there is a great emphasis on streamlining permitting and approval processes to enable development to proceed as quickly as possible. ViewPermit is uniquely positioned to help communities meet these critical needs. For more information, visit www.ViewPermit.com.
