Esri Partner Network

Redlands, California—Leica Geosystems’ Geomatics division recently joined the new Esri Partner Network as a Gold Tier partner to further expand the use of ArcGIS® technology in the surveying and mobile GIS market. Leica Geosystems is developing own-branded solutions on ArcGIS technology and becomes authorized to market them as Solution OEM bundles worldwide.

Heerbrugg, Switzerland—March 17, 2011. Leica Geosystems—the leading provider of surveying technology—announced today that it has become an Esri Gold Tier Partner within the Esri Partner Network. Leica Geosystems has developed a surveying extension for ArcGIS—called Leica MobileMatriX—with an interface to a variety of different surveying sensors such as Total Stations, GPS, Levels and more. In 2010, Leica Geosystems also released Leica Zeno GIS, a GNSS/GIS suite of products that seamlessly extend the GIS database from the office to the field.

The extended relationship with Esri will allow Leica Geosystems to further design, develop, and support ArcGIS compliant software for the surveying and mobile GIS market. With this relationship, Leica Geosystems can better facilitate and support the users’ desire to collect GIS data with surveying equipment while having a direct interface between the field and an ArcGIS database.

“We are very pleased to become Esri Gold Tier Partner. It strengthens the Esri user community’s ability to enhance their productivity with a direct field-to-office workflow,” says Johannes Hotz, Senior Product Manager of Leica Geosystems. “It gives our customers the security that Leica Geosystems and Esri jointly develop the surveying and mobile GIS market and that Leica Geosystems receives all the support needed from the Esri Partner Network to deliver world-class products and solutions for the surveying and mobile GIS market. Esri and Leica work closely together to deliver mobile solutions to thousands of joint customers,” says Hotz.

“Leica Geosystems and the German Esri office, ESRI Deutschland, have been successfully cooperating for many years in joint business development in Germany and Switzerland promoting as first movers seamless and integrated surveying processes with GIS,” says Jörg-Peter Wendt, Director Partner Management of ESRI Deutschland. “We are very proud to support our fellow partner Geomatics of Leica Geosystems in building best-of-breed surveying solutions based on ArcGIS for our common users worldwide.“

The Esri Partner Network is a global network of more than 2,000 solution developers and service companies qualified on Esri technology to solve the needs of users and to support geospatial processes of nearly every industry.
