ESRI/SAP – The Benefits of Integration for Local Government
Overview
After a successful seminar (hosted by ESRI at SAP Clockhouse) aimed at the Utilities sector, East Sussex County Council (ESCC) requested a repeat of the seminar for East Sussex, West Sussex and Hampshire County Councils focusing on their requirements for Asset management, Real Estate and CRM. This was arranged and was held on Thursday 6th July at HCC offices in Chichester to 15 members of the 3 councils.
Summary
The event consisted of:
- An overview of the ESRI/SAP Relationship
- SAP/Serco in Local Government (focussed on Enterprise Asset Management/Real Estate);
- How to Inegrate ESRI and SAP with live demonstrations indicating how SAP and ESRI could provide real benefits to Local Authorities;
- Transforming Government: The Issues facing local authorities.
Feedback was extremely positive.
Points to note:
- All attendees appeared to fully recognise the business benefits of close SAP-GIS integration
- Councils are keen to link and work with other authroities therefore sharing cost and benefits.
- Mobile links now considered to be key for the future.
