ESRI Completes Solution Qualification for an Endorsed Business Solution for SAP Public Security
ESRI's ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Desktop, and Web Map Viewer passed technical solution qualification for an Endorsed Business Solution that provides mapcentric viewing and access to data on Force Elements from SAP's Defence Forces & Public Security (DFPS) component, which enhances the standard SAP functions to meet the unique needs of defence and public security organisations. ESRI's Geospatial Enablement for Public Security (GEPS) is one of only 22 SAP-endorsed business solutions worldwide and is pre-integrated with DFPS to allow defence and public security organizations to see their resources (force elements) in a map viewer together with specific resource information from SAP. When combined with other customer-provided data on local geography, critical infrastructure, population, and incidents, GEPS provides mapcentric access and transparency to the capability and readiness information of resources maintained within SAP.

ESRI Completes SAP Certification Tests

ESRI is pleased to announce our successful completion of SAP integration certification. ESRI's ArcGIS is now officially SAP certified, and our ArcGIS 9 products carry the Powered by NetWeaver® logo. The SAP NetWeaver platform powers mySAP™ Business Suite, SAP® xApps™ packaged composite applications, and partner solutions. It provides a way to integrate all systems running SAP or non-SAP software. SAP NetWeaver unifies integration technologies into a single platform and is preintegrated with business applications, enabling organizational flexibility and reducing the need for custom integration.

Why integrate ESRI and SAP software?

The growing use of GIS is seen in virtually every industry from utilities and retail stores to banks and insurance companies to the public sector. Information that was limited to spreadsheets and databases is unleashed in a new, exciting way through spatial analysis and visualization in a GIS. This allows decision makers to see and explore patterns and trends that were previously invisible—and that is adding to their bottom line.

How to integrate ESRI and SAP software?

There are a number of integration options and choosing between these can be a formidable task. For further information on the options, please see the Integration page.
