Lesson materials

In myGIS we now have a wide range of lesson plans, written by teachers for teachers and geared to the national curriculum.  More are in the pipeline. 

There are lesson plans for geography at Key Stage 3, GCSE and A level, as well as for science, history and other parts of the curriculum.

Each lesson plan includes:

• Teacher notes - explaining how the activity can be used in the classroom and how it links to the curriculum
• Worksheet - showing how to carry out the activity, with step by step instructions, screenshots and questions
• Maps and data – everything you need for the activity

  For both DigitalWorlds and ArcView there is a quick start guide to help you get started with the software.
• Bite-sized tutorials
  Our bite-sized tutorials enable you to learn to use the software in easy steps. These come as podcasts, allowing you to watch an individual GIS process as it takes place on screen and listen to a commentary. For each podcast there is a written summary which you can print off and keep at your side.
