Mid-Scale data1:50 000 Scale Colour Raster is Ordnance Survey’s definitive raster product, providing a complete digital view of the popular Landranger® paper map series. It comprises 812 tiles, each 20 km by 20 km, and offers clear detail on roads, footpaths, woods, water features, important buildings and height contours. All topographic features are joined across sheet edges, providing seamless coverage of the entire country. It provides a comprehensive map base ideal for detailed work where street names are not required, such as environmental analysis. MeridianTM 2 – 1:50,000 vector data All of the geographical features are extracted from existing Ordnance Survey databases and are fully maintained in order to deliver an annual product update. When used in conjunction with users own compatible data the resulting application is a truly useful GIS asset. The Royal Mail manages all postcode and addressing changes and maintenance for Great Britain. The Data Consultancy Group are a reseller of the RoyalMail Postal Address File data (PAF). This provides access to Address Manager software, updated quarterly, which allows extractions from the PAF data into various postcode and address based datasets. These include the full PAF file which contains all the Royal Mail’s addressable information at postcode and premise level, and “PostZon” a 100m accuracy postcode unit dataset. Data sets which are produced from the raw PAF data are: Postzon – 100m accuracy full postcode unit points file for GB. Updated quarterly and supplied as shapefile, .csv file or Geodatabase. The Office of National Statistics collects and collates the census output. ESRI (UK) Ltd has processed and quality checked the 2001 census output and from it have extracted selected data into three main data packs. These contain different sets of census variables to provide a number of levels of detail. An ArcGIS extension called ProCensus has been developed by the ESRI (UK) Products Group to access and carry out a range of profiling and analysis functions on these data packs. The DCG is also able to provide the entire 2001 census output that has been supplied to us, or to provide bespoke extracts. |
