Data In-House Implementation Services

Our consultants are skilled in implementing large GIS datasets within an in-house database environment, including all the most commonly used databases such as Oracle and SQL Server. Typically, many installations do not have an in-house geographic capability, and are therefore not always aware of the issues involved in loading and migrating large geographic datasets.

The following gives a very brief overview of our capabilities in in-house implementation services. By their nature, projects are client-specific: we are happy to discuss your requirements further.

Data Loading & Replication

We are experienced in the replication and loading of large data sets into an enterprise GIS.

Major projects undertaken include:

• ESRI(UK) have downloaded the entire U.K. 2001 Census onto an Oracle server. We can supply extracts of part or all of it and supply in another format, e.g. SQL Server
• A major batch loading of vector shapefile data into an SDE database for a client

Data Migration

You may have several geographic datasets residing in different systems, or a major geographic dataset in a legacy system, which you require to be migrated into a new environment. We can perform the in-house migration of such datasets, understanding the potential pitfalls using data from differing sources and geographical projections.
