ArcGIS for Aviation: Charting, at 10.1, supports the Aeronautical Information System (AIS) data model which is Aeronautical Information Exchange Model (AIXM) compliant. The AIS is fully extensible to meet the needs of individual users.

ArcGIS for Aviation: Charting is bundled with components for data quality control, cartographic product generation, and workflow management for AIM users. Yes. For AIM users, ArcGIS for Aviation: Charting provides a number of templates and workflows that can be customized to meet an organization's needs. New symbols and styles can be developed based on chart requirements. Tools and techniques from the configuration class will be useful in accomplishing any customization needs.

Can I use the current version of ArcGIS for Aviation: Charting with an older version of ArcGIS?

No. To install and function correctly, the versions must match. For example, ArcGIS for Aviation: Charting 10.1 only works with ArcGIS 10.1.
