OS Locator

Features & Benefits
As one of our range of gazetteer services, Ordnance Survey's OS Locator from the OpenData product range provides the ability to search and navigate using street names for all of Great Britain. It enables users to identify and find specific locations by a number of criteria including locality, settlement, local authority and county. It provides:
  • Ability to locate and geocode at street level
  • Town, Locality, County/Unitary Authority, Local Authority area naming
  • Search on a street name and/or a road classification
  • Full Great Britain coverage
As a point-based gazetteer of road names, OS Locator does not contain any road geometry, although it does contain coordinates to create a minimum bounding rectangle encompassing the extent of the road referenced in the gazetteer. Results of searches can be easily visualised using the gazetteer in conjunction with other background mapping map services served by Esri UK.
