  • Facing unprecedented pressures, ranging from flooding and wildfires to erosion, many local authorities have declared climate emergencies. As a result, they now need trusted climate information, relating to their own regions, that they can use to help them complete climate risk assessments, develop realistic adaptation plans and become more resilient to climate change. To support local authorities, the Met Office has worked with Esri UK to build a pathway for turning a prototype system into an operational service, enabling local authorities to access climate information for their local area. Attend this session to find out how the Met Office has used a range of ArcGIS solutions to help local authorities visualise climate challenges, explore climate projections and communicate a climate story specific to their local areas.

  • The analysis journey often begins with data wrangling, so this session will start with the ArcGIS Pro Data Engineering tools. Having subdued the data, the Data Engineering tools give us our first look at the statistics for individual fields. We'll then turn to the Geoprocessing toolboxes to unlock the spatial patterns, confident that we are objectively testing the patterns we see. With the Spatial Statistics and GeoStatistical Analyst toolboxes to hand it can be hard to find something Pro can't do. But if needed, we can draw on external libraries and tools, from within Pro, to bridge any gaps.
