Application Process
Stage One: Application
- Please apply online via our website, including your CV and a covering letter
- Tell us why you think you are suited to the role, giving examples to back up what you say. Help us to understand what makes you suitable for the role, and what sets you apart from the other applicants
Tips for success:- Tailor your CV, demonstrating how your experience and academic studies suit the role
- Check your spelling and grammar to ensure your application reads well
- Review your social media profiles to make sure that they reflect well on you professionally
Stage Two: Initial Interview
- If you are shortlisted, you’ll be invited to have an initial interview via Microsoft Teams or over the phone. These normally last up to 30 minutes
- During the interview there will be questions which explore your experiences, strengths, career aspirations and any areas you want to develop and why you have applied
Tips for success:- Prepare. Research Esri UK, our products, services and customers and competitors
- Think of examples that show you have the skills, competencies, initiative and attitude required for the role
- Be happy and confident: try to relax and smile. Emphasise your enthusiasm for the role and working for Esri UK
- Make sure you speak clearly. Try to avoid words like “erm” and “umm”. If you didn’t understand the question, just ask
- Have the job information and CV in front of you. This will help you to structure your answers
- Think of some questions to ask us
Stage Three: Formal interview or Assessment Day
- If you’re successful, you will be invited to a formal interview or an assessment centre – this could be held in person at our head office in Aylesbury or virtually via Microsoft Teams
- A formal interview will allow us to explore your strengths more and help us get to know you better. An assessment centre will include a series of different exercises, some of which you’ll complete alone and some with other candidates
Tips for success:- Make sure you have prepared and if the interview is virtual ensure you are set up in a quiet place with a good internet connection where you are unlikely to be interrupted
- If your interview or assessment is being held face to face, please work out how you will travel to it and allow plenty of time
- Dress appropriately. It’s an interview where you will be meeting a lot of senior managers across the business – whilst we dress smart casual for work, first impressions count
- Make sure you demonstrate your strengths and abilities. If you think it’s important – say it
- Formal interviews and assessment centres are designed to find out more about the whole you, not just what you’ve done at work or university. Be sure to show us what kind of person you are and what’s important to you and show you work with others
- Try to relax - we are not out to trip you up! Whatever happens, you'll get some great feedback to help you in the future
