Timely access to authoritative data

Powering the Data Observatory is the National Data Service for England, containing thousands of open statistical indicators across themes including Population, Economy, Health & Social Care, Housing, Crime, Children & Young People, Deprivation, and the Environment. The data is provided at standard administrative areas and updated as new data is released.

Create an accurate picture

The Data Observatory is populated with a set of pre-built reports for each key theme and standard geography provided within the National Data Service. These reports include dynamic text, charts and tables and are designed so they always show the latest data.

Enable evidence-based decision making

The Data Observatory includes a set of explorer web apps that connect directly to the National Data Service allowing users to browse and download data, explore on a map, and create graphics for documents and presentations.
