Statement on COVID-19

Esri UK

June 2021

As Coronavirus restrictions begin to lift in the UK we are starting to reopen our offices and meet face-to-face with our customers again. This is an important step forward, but we remain cautious, the health and well-being of Esri UK staff, customers and partners remains our primary concern. We will continue to review our reopening plans and be guided by the latest information from the British Government.

Esri UK offices

The majority of our staff continue to work from home and all Esri UK offices remain closed. However, from the start of July we will begin a phased re-opening. Initially this will be for internal meetings only, with customer and supplier meetings re-commencing from the start of September. We currently anticipate our offices being fully re-opened by the end of October.

Accessing our Services

Supporting our customers remains a key priority and the Services groups within our business continue to operate:

  • Professional Services - Aside from a small group of customers where onsite work is the only option, we are currently adopting a ‘remote-first’ approach within Professional Services. We have a suite of collaboration tools including video conferencing, online chat and desktop sharing, which have been working very effectively over the past 12 months. We will continue to work in this way with the majority of our customers, but as restrictions are lifted, we are happy to attend face-to-face meetings where necessary. If this is of interest please contact your Project Manager or CSM to discuss arrangements.

  • Managed Services - Our Online and Cloud services continue to operate as normal and are therefore unaffected by the easing of coronavirus restrictions

  • Learning Services - For the remainder of 2021 our scheduled training courses will be delivered virtually. Virtual training is fully live and interactive and can be accessed at a location of the customer’s choosing rather than in a shared classroom. Onsite training can be delivered where necessary. If this is of interest please contact our Learning Services team to discuss further.

  • Technical Support - Our Technical Support team continues to operate as normal, with access available via all the usual channels. We are fully committed to supporting all our customers and have policies and procedures in place to ensure the continuity of our support services. Customers are asked to submit requests via MyEsri in the usual way.

Customer Events

For the remainder of 2021 we do not plan to run any of our usual customer events. Instead we will use virtual conferencing facilities and will continue to deliver webinars, technical updates and other online events. For more information, please see here.

Business Continuity

Esri UK maintain a detailed Business Continuity Plan (BCP) which is designed to help minimise the disruption to our business and our customers in the event of a major incident such as Coronavirus. This plan provides guidelines on how to respond to such events and, to the greatest extent possible, maintain a high-quality service for our customers. The BCP is tested and updated on a regular basis and along with our ISO27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus certifications all contribute to having robust plans in place to deal with events that might impact our business.

For more information, please refer to our BCP Executive Summary.
