Fáilte Ireland see their efforts rewarded with an Eir Spider

Established in 1996, the eir Spiders are now in their 20th year making them the longest standing and most prestigious internet awards in Ireland. They reward Irish businesses and community organisations for their creativity and innovation and provide an important opportunity to recognise and showcase online excellence. 

The glitzy annual award ceremony took place last night at the Double Tree Hotel, Dublin hosted by Jennifer Maguire and Bernard O’Shea from 2FM’s Breakfast Republic.
The eir Spider awards are considered an important benchmark for distinction and excellence in web-based business strategies. Previous winners have been on the cutting edge of their chosen fields and have since gone onto great success in their respective industries. 

Esri Ireland sponsored the Digital Geography category for the 3rd year in a row and is delighted to announce that Fáilte Ireland scooped the award for their website: Wild Atlantic Way.  The team are pictured below with Joanne McLaughlin, Head of Marketing at Esri Ireland, collecting their Spider.

The "Digital Geography" category showcased the work of Esri Ireland customers and the work of the entire GI community to a whole new audience. Eamonn Doyle, Chief Technology Officer at Esri Ireland presided as judge in the Digital Geography Category. 

Each of the categories in the 2015 Eir Spider Awards is designed to acknowledge and promote business and community enterprise through technological advancements, innovation and e-commerce. In total, 21 awards were presented on the night honouring online and digital achievement.
