Esri Ireland's 4th Annual Map Challenge "Maps Make Sense for Salzburg" gets underway
2012 saw the official launch of ArcGIS Online, Esri’s Cloud Based Software as a Service GIS Platform. Since then thousands of individuals and organisations have created ArcGIS Online Accounts, have uploaded their geographic information, mapped that information and shared it either publicly or inside their organisation.
In 2014 saw the launch of Esri Ireland’s "Maps Make Sense for Croatia" Challenge and Nial McSorley from Coleraine Borough Council experienced the EMEA User Conference first hand in Split last October. Nial even got to meet with Esri's President, Jack Dangermond. This year’s theme is once again about Storytelling, using web maps to tell interesting, engaging and compelling stories. Esri Ireland has created 5 different categories of entries which means 5 Winners will be making their way to the Esri European User Conference (EUC) in Salzburg.
Joanne McLaughlin, Head of Marketing with Esri Ireland “The categories include: Government (including State Agencies); Local Government; Non Government (e.g.: private sector); Third Level Education and Not for Profit organisations which means if you’re a novice or a veteran GIS user – there is an opportunity to win a trip and experience the Esri EUC first hand”.
