Esri UK becomes Strategic Partner in Ordnance Survey’s Channel Partner Programme
New collaboration ensures data strategies are aligned for customer benefit
Esri UK has become a Strategic Partner in Ordnance Survey’s Channel Partner Programme, the highest level in the scheme. Marking another milestone in the history of Esri UK and Ordnance Survey (OS) working together, the partnership ensures that the future direction of both organisations’ data strategies is closely aligned for the benefit of the UK’s geospatial industry.
Advantages for joint customers include making sure OS data works seamlessly and efficiently in Esri’s ArcGIS system to generate new insights, while industry feedback from Esri UK helps with the development of innovative new OS data products and services.
Over 2,000 joint UK customers currently use authoritative data from OS in their Esri ArcGIS apps, maps and dashboards, in both the public and private sector.
The partnership ensures continued ease of access to OS data via ArcGIS, including the use of the new OS National Geographic Database, which helps improve the quality of geospatial applications including 3D models and digital twins. The OS National Geographic Database is the most comprehensive data on Britain’s landscape.
“Esri UK and OS enjoy a long-standing relationship, engaged at all levels across both organisations,” said Paul Clarke, Head of Government Practice at Esri UK. “The new data partnership makes sure we continue to take advantage of the strong synergies between us and keep delivering value to customers. Working more closely together, sharing ideas and industry experiences, enables both organisations to be major players in the evolution of location data and technology.”
“The two-way knowledge transfer involved in Strategic Partnerships plays a vital role in helping achieve the wider use of location data while also improving the OS product and development roadmap,” said Hannah Williams, Senior Marketing Manager, Channel Partners, Ordnance Survey. “The new agreement will mean even closer collaboration with Esri UK, one of the UK’s most renowned GIS innovators, expanding the reach of our data and unlocking further value for the UK economy.”
Ordnance Survey is also one of Esri UK’s most significant government customers, using Esri technology and services to curate and deliver its world leading digital and paper mapping products.
