Frequently asked questions

GB Premium is a vector cached service, whilst the Classic version is based on older raster caching. Benefits of vector caches include additional styles, ability to customise styling, faster loading, and improved zoom quality.​

We strongly recommend using the GB Premium service, unless you are using ArcMap or a third-party application which doesn’t support vector caches. New subscriptions for the Classic (and other raster services including MasterMap and VectorMap Local) will only be granted where there is a technical need.​

Yes, you can take map tiles and features for offline use, including in the field. For largescale offline use, we may recommend an offline file-geodatabase. Speak to your Esri UK representative or sales@esriuk.com for more information.​

Yes, a data licence is required for all services. ​
TitleInfo includes the data licence and is available for any organisation to purchase. ​

The other Maps+ services require a separate national data licence for the included data. National licences are available via the Public Sector Geospatial Agreement and are also available to purchase separately, speak to your Esri UK representative or sales@esriuk.com for more information.​
